Volunteer

There are so many ways you can get involved with making a difference in the lives of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people, with a range of levels of involvement so you can find one that fits both your schedule and your desire to makes things better.
  • You can volunteer as part of our Advocacy network, involving your congregation in advocacy efforts to change policies and laws that affect the lives of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people.  Read More 
  • You can volunteer to facilitate a UU small group inside a prison or jail, working directly with incarcerated people. Read More
  • You can arrange for a workshop on things like the realities of mass incarceration and what you need to know to effectively interact with and support incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people.  Read More ​
  • You can arrange for your congregation to do a shared plate collection to benefit UUPMI.
  • You can arrange for a sermon about mass incarceration, forgiveness, or radical hospitality to be given in your congregation, to make the work that UUPMI is doing more widely known.  
  • You can arrange for learning opportunities for high school youth in your congregations.
